What is a Diamond Certificate?

A diamond certificate is essentially the “passport” of a diamond.
It provides verified details such as:

All of this is issued by an independent laboratory, neutral to the sale.
This ensures you don’t have to rely solely on the seller’s word — the diamond’s quality is confirmed by a reputable authority.

GIA – Gemological Institute of America

Founded in 1931, GIA is a nonprofit and widely regarded as the world’s foremost authority in gemology.
They were the first to categorize diamonds by color and clarity, and their mission is to uphold integrity, science, and education in the jewelry trade.

HRD – Hoge Raad voor Diamant (Belgium)

HRD is the official representative of the Belgian diamond industry, headquartered in the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC).
An HRD certificate guarantees the authenticity of a diamond, ruling out any possibility of imitation or synthetic substitutes.

IGI – International Gemological Institute

Founded in Antwerp in 1975, IGI is the oldest institute of its kind and now operates labs in New York, Bangkok, Mumbai, and Tokyo.
An IGI report confirms the identity and grade of a diamond using an internationally recognized system.
